RELIC HUNTING VS. CACHE

You people are the closest thing to a cache hunter with out actually wearing the badge. Therefore with all the collective experience of looking for buttons to mortar shells, what detector would you chose if you decided to findng iron objects the size of a quart jar 1-3 feet deep in a larger area. Two boxes aside I'd like to know your weapon of choice with a standard metal detector and why?

i dig all readings because i dug shells Reeds,Burtons,Shinkles and such
The last md i used before i got the Teknetics T2 was a whites xlt i know it will dig shells at 3ft
U havent dug any shells with the T2 yet but im sure it will do a better job because of the depth Iv dug minis at(18 in) and a murcury dime at 13 ins
Hope this helps

Fieldboy is right. The T2 is the weapon of choice. I dug a beer can at 20 inches, the deepest item so far. The signal was good and strong, so a Shell or cash should come in loud and clear. It should come in even louder in the all metal mode. A lot of the relic hunter are starting to discover the T2 and F75. I was out today for about an hour and dug this J hook and percussion cap in a hunted out site in southern NC. I have pounded this area, about the size of half a football field, for 2 years and can't count the number of times I have walked over these items. Percussion cap can be hard to find if you are not paying attention. The T2 really doesn't miss very much small or large. Small items come in just as loud as large items. So check it out and happy hunting.
