relic hunting settings

Do you dig it all when relic hunting since even iron could be a good target?

My shallow targets 6" or less will give a good signal here in Tennessee but when hunting in Virginia near Culpeper EVERY target sounds as iron. Even 1" deep. The soil is so hot there that you have to dig every target. I use the MXT PRO by the way.

Your ground is everything as TNreb said. I dig all non ferrous signals in my ground.

I run a xterra 70 and dig all signals above -6 and when it is not too trashy I dig -6 also. I dig alot of 8 inch or deeper bullets that read -8 on my xterra.
