We should have two feet of snow out here, but I guess global warming is proving itself right this year. Did a relic hunt in the woods today and the only white stuff was some frozen ice on top of a spring. As usual this past year, I always carry two detectors with me. One with the stock coil and one with a sniper coil to get into those thick bushes.

I did manage one penny and a couple of other tiny odds and ends.......

My first target was a bottle cap with an old (unfamiliar) liquer bottleattached to it. Next an old jack knife showed up.

What read as a tin can produced an old vintage lighter.

My favorit find was an old toy gun. The mechanism still works too. Heck, it even has 4 notches on the bottom of the handle.

Well....off to work I go........

John,

Ground is as hard as granite and colder than I care for. I'm praying for a warm spell to get out again. Not enough snow here to check any local toboggan hills.

Nice picture of the gun in the ground. Was the bottle laying near by?
Looks like you had a fun hunt.

Cheers !

It was minus 29 last week, then it got up to about plus 10-12 degrees this past weekend. Go figure....I had to work, but they asked me to work evenings today, so I got up early and worked an area which has given up silver before. That bottle was lying beside a tree quite a ways from the gun.
