Relic Hunt - MXT Produces GOLD !

Hey all ,

Wanted to get out one more time before it gets too HOT down here in the Bayou State. Also gonna be busy for the next week or so. I hit the woods looking for CW relics at one of my "not so publicized" locations. Found a few musket and mini-balls and misc lead. Then - out of no where and in the middle of the woods came a strong 14-16 vdi from the MXT Pro . Dug down a few inches next to a tree root and found a fancy 14K Gold Child's Ring ??? It appeared old but was in great shape. Was later told by someone in the know that it is most likely from the 1920's era.

Life is Good. Thanks for looking and thanks to all for your comments. CCH.

Yahoo! You got a nice piece of gold. If there's not any marking on it, it is an old one. Back in the day, the government did not regulate the purity of the gold in jewelry and did not require a 10K, 14K, 18K, etc. stamp. Look for any markings on the inside of the ring. Maybe it would fit your wife's pinky finger. ;) Thanks for the video and sharing.

Nancy, thanks for the comments.

I took it to a friend who is in the precious metal business. There were no markings inside the band regarding 10, 12, 14 K stamp etc... It tested out at 14k. There were some hand scripted initials on the inside of it. Its in like new condition after all these years. Digging that low VDI # paid off.

Your secret is safe with me EJ....... Congratulations on the gold, that is a pretty one too....

Oh my! That's an oldie for sure CCH. You've got yourself a mighty fine relic there. Someone made that for their love and it sounds like it was lost shortly after. That's a lifetime keeper and VERY impressive.

Wait!!!! Larry just said he lost the ring he made for me down by an old tree. Could it be? :poke:  Never mind, I thought he said ring but he said, "SWING". :sadwalk: :sadwalk: Good find EJ.

Nice ring CCH, It is always fun to get those little surprises when out hunting.

Awsome video and finds. The gold ring has some really nice design on it, congrats!

Congratulations CCH. Good to see that 5.3 coil is working well for you in the woods.

A good video, too. Sorry you have to deal with the little critters but at least it's sunny and warm. I sure wish spring would ever get here (NW Oregon).

Keep up the looking and finding.

Yes Monte & Hunt4Fun.

The 5.3 worked very well for me in the woods. I find that its easy to manuever around the brush. Its also light-weight compared to others so I can swing it a little longer in the heat/humidity. Most of my finds that day were in the 5" range so I had no problems with it. Besides, I was running the gain up to +2 so I was picking up can slaw alot deeper. It really sounded off on that little gold ring. Thanks for your comments. CCH

great video and good luck to you next time.

very nice , thanks for the video!
