RELIC Alternate Search Mode

I have read the instructions for the RELIC Alternate Search Mode ( trigger in forward position ) in the book, "The MXT Edge" more than one time, and still don't get it. Isn't this just the pinpoint mode with the trigger locked in the forward position ? How do you go about searching in the pinpoint mode ?

I answered this in another post. The MXT Edge was written before the MXT Pro came out. Do you have the MXT or MXT PRO? With the regular MXT, trigger forward puts the machine in alternate relic mode. With the MXT PRO, trigger forward locks the pinpoint. So how do you go into alternate relic mode with the MXT Pro? Easy, it is done with Tone ID. Leave the trigger in center position. 1 Tone is same as original MXT regular search mode. 2 tone is same as MXT's primary search mode. Iron ID is same as Mxt's alternate search mode with discrimination (dual control) at it's lowest setting.

Sorry, I have the MXT Pro. Even though the book was written for the MXT, I assumed that section of the book also referred to the MXT Pro.
