Relatively Lightweight Analogue detector?

New member
Did anyone ever make a relatively light analogue detector (3.5 lbs or so and well balanced) that was practically no frills, could be hunted with an audible threshold and had a couple different coils, like a 7", 9.5 or 10" coil? Seems like a good relic hunting machine should have the ability to tell you by sound, about how deep the target is. The few analogue machines I have had could do that by signal intensity, whereas the digitals eighther break threshold with a beep that doesn't vary in intensity or stay silent.

I have the 6000 Pro XL which is the same detector as the XL Pro, and It hunts with an audible threshold in all modes. It has two all-metal speeds, G.E.B./ S.A.T. self adjusting theshold all-metal and a G.E.B. Normal all-metal mode. G.E.B. stands for ground exclusion balance, which is White's terminology for ground balance. It has a TR disc. mode which is not automatically ground balanced and automatically ground balanced G.E.B. Disc mode which is motion disc. mode that is threshold based.
It has a 4" a 6 & 1/2" a 8" and a 9 &1/2" and a 15" coil available. The only problem is that White's dicontinued them in 1995, But they can still be found on the used market.
