Relationships and homowner concerns can turn a no to yes.to hunt

My buddy asked a homeowner for permission to MD and was denied. This is a old 1880 house in town. I called and talked to the owner and told about knowing his great
aunt and grandmother from my church. He told me that he denied another to hunt before. I asked what was his concern? He said he lost a gold wedding ring 10 years ago
in the yard. I said I would look for it and return it to him. I said I would put my detector in 22.5 and search the whole area where he lost it. I will be going to his yard in the
next few days. This is just an example of turning a no into a yes by finding what the barrier is to the no. In this case it was a lost gold ring.

Good luck nalc472. If it's there, you will get it! A while back, a guy got in touch with me who had lost his 18K signet ring. He lived in a trailer and had a close relationship with Bud Light haha. He had gotten home from a night on the town and saw a board in his driveway and got out of his truck and threw it into the bushes - his ring went with it. His yard was one of the most trashy yards that I have hunted - pull tabs, tin foil, nuts bolts, cans etc. I used my 4X6 coil and dug and removed everything. I hunted for it for about 5 hours in 110 degree heat and had no luck. I'm stubborn and went back the next morning. I didn't tell you, he had 2 large dogs who also "used" the back yard , if you know what I mean? Well, I passed the 4X6 over a pile of dry dog poop and got a signal. I stuck my screwdriver into the poop and there beneath it was the ring! Whenever I ask permission to hunt a site, I always ask if there is anything that has been lost there because I would be happy to search for it and return it. That strategy gained me permission to detect an 1890's house that coincidentally was owned by the cousin of the signet ring owner. You never know. Find that ring! Best of luck and...

Happy Hunting!

Found this 1891 at the house in the message Found another 1929 wheat. a bunch of other coins modern. The coin had a bend and I took a hammer and hit it with a board under it.
Don't look too bad.
