I'm looking for a good headlamp. Ran across www.rei.com.
Amazing! 37 different headlamps.

How do you pick from so many?

 
I went to Wal-Mart, where they had one. It made the picking a lot easier.

Since then, I moved away from the headlamp and went with a shaft-mounted LED lamp. Runs for a 140 hours on 3 AAA batts...plenty bright. Easily detaches for use as a small hand light. And it's WATERPROOF, which not many of those headlamps are. I've submerged mine.

Mike, you did it again. What a great idea, but did the bracket you use to clamp it on come with the light or is that an extra dealy?? Great setup.
