when cleaning coins or other metal objects using electrolisis (yep spelled that one wrong) is it salt or baking soda that you put in the water? The city here is re-doing the sewer lines on one of the oldest streets. They have the asphalt removed....kinda (i think they had a couple layers) after a hour or so i had found several clads a wheatie 1942 I think pretty crudded up and a 1904 V nickel. The wheatie and the V nickel was/is in pretty bad shape with crud and pits on them. thats why i decided on this method of cleaning them....cant hurt em anymore then they already are.

Thanks

I use table salt
