Refinery Reviews A MUST read for PPL that sell

First of all, I have sold to 3 different refineries. To be fair only 2 have recieved rings. The third got a lot of scrap computer parts.

Out of the 3 I give http://www.aragold.com/ A GREAT review. Not only will they send you a 90% settlement check the DAY they recieve your gold but they also remove stones FREE of charge and send them back. They also pay the most. 98% of gold value. Their service is wonderful and they are VERY polite. FANTASTIC is all I can say. They settle an account within 3 - 5 days. It is only 5 days if they remove the stones. Call them for yourselves!! Also you can LOCK in a price or they can pool the gold and let you tell them when you want to sell. I absolutely loved their service. When you call you need to ask them for an advance check or put it in a letter to them.

Ok Midwest is the second I would recomend. Website here. http://www.midwestrefineries.com/gold.htm BUT their formula is confusing and you never know when they decide to lock in your price. Also you get 95% of melt. Nice to deal with BUT a little vague in my opinion. They are also polite and helpful. Since gold prices seem to change every few minutes do you get the lowest price for the day or how do they do it? Not sure at all.

Last is 123 refinery. Website here: http://www.123preciousmetal.com/index.html. I feel i got totally robbed by them and will never go back. You might feel different. They also give 95% of karat value they say. They paid me 75% from my computer parts and they were pretty decieving as far as from what I was told on the phone. I also waited and waited for an envelope they never sent and they did not pay any of my shipping costs which they said they would.

You might have different results but this is what I came across. Remember there are 2 sides to every story BUT I had just wonderful results with ARA. I will constantly use them.

Good luck out there!!!

Thanks a bunch! Up in Canada, we don't seem to have any place to send things. Considered Midwest on my searches and know a party who felt exactly as you do! He is FINISHED with them upon receiving a very low price for same day! Anyone else have input?...Thanks...best...Rich

Got news from ARAGold this afternoon in the mai. First time I have sold any
of my gold. A few broken rings, etc. Not much. Surprised and happy with the
results.

I just received my first check from A.R.A. today. Fast and friendly service and the pay-out was right on the money, just as advertised. Here is their link http://aragold.com/ Regards, John

Sorry!!

Pushed the wrong button on my first try.

Thanks Scubadetector. That's a great report. I've been thinking of were I could sell my placer gold( when I get enough)!! so now I have two good sources.
The other thing is that I would not be in a hurry to sell my gold. Gold should be at about 1500.00 by mid 2010. I got that from a very good source that follows gold closely. It is suppose to hang around the 1100.00 mark for a while here and then start heading up.

Thanks again
Tom

Well I actually live off my finds in the summer and keep as much as I can for the winter. Detecting is how I make my money!!

Scuba, thanks SO much for sharing. I used to swear by Midwest, but the last 2 settlements were an absolute atrocity. There was ALWAYS something about every order that was suspect and Gary simply explained it away. They won't get any more of my gold, I'm DONE!

Going to try ARA next time. I just sent a package in to Midwest and they gave me the low price for the week.

Yea Midwest ISN'T the way to go anymore. I am completely impressed with ARA and I think EVERYONE will feel the same

Thanks all and if any have a problem please let us know!!!

Agreed,ARA is in,MIDWEST is out. Used ARA last month and was pleased on all accounts.Felt shorted by MIDWEST for same reasons you did.sam in ms

Just got my first check from ARA and I'm a happy camper. They paid 98% spot gold and also scooped the diamonds and gemstones at n/c. I've also used Robert H Fell Refinery in Los Angeles, California with good results. They charge 3.5% or slightly more for small lots. Also charge $35 assay fee per lot. Family run business w/30 plus yrs experience.

thanx for all the new imfo ...we already know ..... whats the best pay out u can do ??? u cant urn trust with words ...ARA has been tested and it has proven its self

UPDATE:

ARA is under NEW OWNERSHIP. My last shipment to them , I was paid 125.00 SHORT. I got RUDE emails from the new owner. The new owner sent another email to another detectorist saying:

"Oh, no! We will lose tens of dollars a year without ya'll. We are setting a 5 ounce minimum just to weed you dead beats out."

BEWARE.

Hey Scuba,

Thanks for letting me know about that! I have not had much gold these days, but I certainly would be sending it to ARA, if I had any. I had no idea they had sold out, so guess I need to find another reliable source. Hopefully somewhere around here locally in the Houston area.

Thanks for the info Scuba. I have been using them for years when you first mentioned them and have had great experiences with them...but my last batch was sent in 2016 so I may have to find a new refiner to send to. Sad to hear ARA sold out.
