Redman and Joe G go a huntin'

Can't believe I have a hunting buddy... not only that but he doesn't mind meeting at 5:30 in the morning :)

We stood for a bit in Dunkin' Doughnuts trying to figure out where we were going to go. Jim suggested a nearby park. Lo and behold, it's one I've hit a couple of times; although only once with the Exp II. Sure looks like he's been hunting the same areas I do (which explains a lot about my lack of finds :) )
It was a beautiful morning!

LOT'S of trash everywhere and we only managed a couple of clad each but Jim had the finds of the day with a ring marked "sterling" and a wheatie.

Here's a pic of Jim "Redman"

Jim, it was great to get out even if the finds were meager... now we have to do some research over the winter. Oh, and of course there's winter hunting at the beach :)

Good hunt guys ! That silver ring has some heft to it, WTG R. Glad you both hooked up - trees are looking beautiful already, Steve i nso az

It was marked "sterling" and came out of the ground with a bit of a shine to it. However, what was shining was actually peeling off in some spots. Have you ever heard of anything with a layer over silver?

R - that's the maker's mark - common one. It sounds like silver but shouldn't be peeling. Don't know, steve

Jewelry is often coated with lacquer or other similar substances in order to prevent it from tarnishing--which explains why it came out of the ground shiny, when it's sterling silver.
The trademark is:
"U WITH INTERSECTING ARROW" - JEWELRY TRADEMARK USED BY UNCAS MFG. CO., PROVIDENCE, RI SINCE 1949

Congrats on finding a detecting partner, as well as on unearthing the ring.
