recovery tool tips needed for parks

Would like to know what type tool used by experienced city park hunters to retrieve 8 inch and deeper targets.
Thanks Michael FT.Worth

Michael,
I use a lesche digging knife and cut a 4 inch dia. plug the lenght of the blade of the knife and after taking the plug out will dig some dirt out and go in with my X1 probe and find that target, put the dirt and plug back in and stomp it down good.

And don't forget the LARGE frisbe to put the dirt in so that it ALL goes back into the hole leaving no trace on the grass. Avoid the large hunting knives some use in parks to dig holes...some parks are enforcing the same regulation against knives that schools are...no sense going to jail for carrying a "weapon" in a public place.

A person wants to make it look as there was no plug dug when done. The nicer the park looks the more careful you have to be. Like you say becareful on what you take into the park to dig with too, the smaller the digger the better you will be. Large digging tool can be used in farm feilds, but not in parks and yards.

Have found that a plastic gold pan works well for holding the dug dirt for return to the hole.
