Recovery Speed - Buying new detector -

mr.mikey

Is it me or do Tesoros have incredible recovery speed. The reason I ask is because I'm looking to get back into metal detecting and I want to buy a new detector. I don't have a budget really, and have been looking at everything apart for a whites V3 and a e-track (I don't wanna watch tv while I'm detecting, which is part of the reason I didn't like my old whites mxt, I found myself far to reliant by the end of a tiring day just watching the VDI and not listening). On another thought I was looking into the Tesoro coil line up and didn't see many DD style coils. Is this due to the fact that target separation is better on Tesoros due to the high recovery speed? or will the concentric coils still suffer as badly as my MXT's 9.5? Just trying to get a better feel for what a Tesoro would represent in the field.

Found some good reviews on youtube about the euro versions of the Tesoros.

Insane recovery speed VS a dxf, minelab sov's, explorers and the xlt and most all others...the F-75 is the closest in regards that I have seen so far. Am I wrong? or dose fast recovery make the difference with a concentric coil vs a DD style? and if you use the DD style I would image it has to be insane!

Just looking for some input on what you would recommend I buy as Tesoro users. No budget, but I like value :) Thanks for your help.

If you don't want a screen I think most guys will recommend a Vaquero. Has ground balance in both modes, goes deep, very smooth running machine, single tone. If you like tones the Golden has 4. I like the way the tones blend together, say when a nail is close to a coin. Preset ground balance, notches, not as deep as the Vaquero.

Extremely fast recovery speed is one of the best features that keeps me pleased with my Tesoros. I sold or traded a Garrett and a Prizm IV due to difficulty pinpointing due to sluggish recovery, especially in trashy areas. Haven't used many of the newer models out there so can't compare to all. I use mostly the concentric coils and haven't tested the one DD I have in the way you question, but it works well when I've used it.
