RECOVERY... Question ????

ferdware

New member
Hello again,

I just need someone to clarify something for me.

This is what it says in owners guide.
Recovery Delay - 1 - 200, 200 = slowest. Additional and seperate (beyond filtration) selection for the signal responce time. Short responce time benefits benefits performance in high trash by providing better target seperation. A longer responce time allows a larger window to detect deeper targets.......(and so on)

My question is.
Does slowest = longer or short responce time ?

Also I am a quick sweeper. What would be recomended for recovery. I mostly hunt the beach. Using beach program and I currently have a 10.0 Hz High Pass selected.

Thankyou
FERD

Once the coil acquires a target the time starts. The recovery delay is how many time units before the coil can start to acquire another target. Slower speeds need higher numbers. 200 would be the longest time between acquiring the first target and when it could start to acquire the second target.

Place 2 coils a little wider than the coil you are using. Swing the coil at you regular speed. When you hit both coils in both directions that would be around right. With my D2, 5 band filter, and slow swing I can get them both at RD = 95 Rob

If depth is not your major objective and coverage is, you might want to try a faster recovery speed of 45-50 for beach hunting.

I have been detecting for almost a year now and started with a V3. Thanks too all who answer questions also to those that ask them , I have learned much from this forum

Place 2 coils a little wider than the coil you are using.....Rob , did you mean to say coins , just want to make sure I understand

Lets say I was hunting a beach with targets and trash few and far between , in this case my understanding is I would run a slower recovery delay to obtain more depth.....Thanks Larry and Rob

There are so many spots where even the old stuff doesn't go too deep or...jewelry and 30 year old targets are about it. These are places where you will pay for your machine. Setting up a few programs for this is where you can start learning and maximum depth settings follows rather quickly so........in places that have been hunted hard, target separation is another "frontier" as important as depth. For depth...yup,slower recovery is where you give the circuitry time to look deep. (Not Larry or Rob but....I'm still up!!) Good luck on the beach! Scott
