Excellent article.....I work as a registered nurse currently in re-hab. I mostly deal with hip/knee replacements and also with shoulder/rotator-cuff injuries. Physio on shoulder injuries takes a longer time then hip/knee replacements to get up & running.. The best defense is a good offence. Detecting regularly, along with daily exercises and stretches, keeps your shoulders in good shape. DON'T over-do it. If you start having pain...stop! If in doubt, go see your physician.

John,
I worked as a Athletic Trainer dealing with musculoskeletal injuries. We have something in common besides MD//lol
Then worked for 20 years in the Medical Sales, dealing with DME and orth replacements.
Started metaldetecting at the age of 13 , and still detecting

have a good weekend

Good advice. My shoulder has been bothering me for years and the only thing that helps is getting Mama to rub some castor oil on it.

LOL
what ever works
happy treasure hunting

My recent MRI's indicate full-depth rotator cuff tears both shoulders and severe rotator cuff-tear arthropathy. I can't bear the thought of giving up detecting and it looks like I'm beyond physical therapy. I'm not looking for medical advice but what has worked for you guys? I think I'm looking at surgery.
