Recommended GBP DP Beach Settings

I'll be getting my new GBP DP next. The first place I'll head will be the local beach to see what kind of jewelry I can find in the dry sand. What discrimination settings would you recommend I use?

Hi tabman. What do you mean?
Congrats berryman. I just got one. I really like it! I tried finding jewelry on the soft beach sand to no avail. I think you have to work the wet sand, preferably at low tide to have any success. As far as settings go, I would suggest setting the discrim at 40. This should discrim out iron. Sensitivity (gain) I would go for about 12 O clock to start (50). If you can jack the sens even higher without getting a lot of false signals, go for it. If you are down low on the beach, working the dry sand, you will get a lot of falsing if you run the sens much higher than 50. Have fun, let us know if you have any luck.

My second day out with the machine at the beach I found three rings in the dry sand in 1 1/2 hours with discrimination set at 48. I couldn't be happi with the machine!
