Recommended Coils

I would really appreciate recommendations on what extra coils you like to use with your MXT.I'm mainly interested in coinshooting. There are a couple of old Army campsites and stagecoach way stations that I really should check out though. We do seem to have fairly alkaline soil in some of these spots. Thanks

There are currently 3 White's-produced accessory coils for the MXT: 5.3 concentric, 6x4 DD (actually 6.75" by 3.5") and 10x6 DD. All three of these coils give better target separation in a trashy envoirnment then does the stock 950 coil. You mention that your soil is alkaline; in that case the DD coils sre better suited for such areas then the 5.3 concentric. In my opinion, the best coil for trashy, highly mineralized sites is the 6x4 Mini DD "Shooter." Remarkable depth for such a small coil, superb trash separation, and better iron rejection. Hope this helps; HH Jim

I love my mini DD. I hardly ever use anything else. It will pick up targets in a very small area even when another target is really close by. You barely have to move it to hit the target. And it pinpoints great right on the money.

I have had very good success using concentric coils in the 6
