rechecking my front yard

with my new detector, I want to do a complete job so I am just checking everything, however I have noticed that I will get a beep where the dirt meets the sidewalk and I will dig and not find anything, when people make sidewalks do they use nails or brackets or something to hold the sidewalk that could be setting off the detector?

Could re-bar in the concrete, Or a deep old sprinkler
But many lost coins fall down that crack also
