rechargeable battery

I'm new to the ctx 3030. I'm looking for advice as to how often to recharge the battery for the detector and the wireless remote unit for the headphones. I was concerned as to whether charging before the units went down significantly would shorten the length of time that the batteries would hold their charge. Response from you 3030 pros would be appreciated.

I believe that I read somewhere in the manual that the battery pack is lithium Ion and will not hold a memory if you charge before draining the battery pack. I hope that helps. I can't find my manual to confirm that.

They say the Lithium-Ion batteries don't have a memory and can be charged at anytime.

I also am under the impression the charger is a smart charger also. It will completely discharge the battery before it starts to recharge it thus preventing battery memory.

I don't believe the discharge function, no need for it to do so.

I have been using the CTX for a little over two years now. I have not noticed any diminished capacity even though I almost always charge the battery when it is about half way depleted.

it is for certain that Lithium Ion batts do not develop memory like the older NiCad and Nimhi, so yes you can charge at any time and not worry.

Larry, you are right. I thought I had read in the manual that id fully discharged before charging but I was mistaken. It does not say that anywhere. Must have been thinking about my cordless drill.
