Rechargeable batteries

Hi All.......does anyone use Rechargeable batteries in their units?? If so ..what type/make/manf. thank you

I use Tenergy 250mAh Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries I got from zbatteries.com...These are the cheap ones that are like 8.5 volts..
I also use POWEREX 230mAh true 9.6 volt NIMH rechargeable....very good batts...Also got these from http://www.zbatteries.com
Alkaline are always going to be your best bet though...I often use cheap ones I buy in bulk from a local Dollar General...I buy 24 at a time...

Would you say that the regular alkaline are better than the rechargables as far as detector performance?...I have bought energizer rechargables..and have been using them

Remember...9V is 9V is 9V...source does not matter...what changes is voltage drop off times...the Rechargeable last for a while, then quickly start to drop off in Voltage delivered...The Alkalines have a steady drop off...like a nice gentle downhill roll, the rechargeables last at a steady voltage for a good time, then just drop off to nothing...I have also started using Lithium 9Volts with success...they last a LONG time, but are expensive...Just DO NOT leave them in the detector if your storing it for longer than a month...

Lithiums last me about 10-14 hours of solid ON time....I leave my detector on all the time I am hunting...Even when I put the machine down to dig and such...I only turn it off when I take a break or when I am done for the day...Remember...the detector burns the most juice when it is producing a tone and a LCD display reading, also burns more juice when you DO NOT use headphones...when it is not producing a tone, it draws like micro Amps...So the more you pass over a target, the more battery life you are draining...Eventually, you learn to ID and Pinpoint your target as quickly as possible...
