rechargeable batteries

Hi All,
I just purchased an MXT (Don't have it yet) and was wondering if anyone has had any experience using rechargeable NiMH batteries. They are 1.2 volts instead of the usual 1.5. They would give a total of 9.6 volts as opposed to the 12 volts regular batteries would give. Has anyone had an MXT run well with these or would the voltage drop cause problems?
Thanks in advance / Ron

I've used them for 2 years. The mxt uses a voltage regulater that drops the volts to about 8volts which is what the electronics run on. There is no loss of performance using rechargeables, just a lower cost per use.

I have used a brand called DIGITAL sold at Wall Mart--For around $20 you get Batteries and charger--There are 2200 mAh which is about as high as you can find---They last many moons in the DFX-MXT--For Around $32 You can have charger (2) sets of batteries

Thanks for the info. I will have to make a trip to Wally World. <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
