A co- workers wife lost a nice gold ring about 2 weeks ago while washing a car in the yard and asked me if I would loan her my detector to see if she could find it.
Her mother had given this ring to her and it meant alot to her.
I brought in one of my detectors ( tesoro cutlass II umax) and showed her the basics of operation and how to scan the ground.
She called me last night and happily told me that she had found the ring in only a short time of searching the area that she thought it would be.
I asked her to bring in the ring to work and took photos of it to show everyone.
I was as happy as she was when she told me she had found it, since I don't have very good luck searching for specific items that people ask me to help with.
About a year ago a couple saw my buddy and I hunting and asked us to help them find a wedding ring that she had lost about 3 years before and we said sure.
As it turns out, as she was riding down the road, she threw a bagel out of the car window and her wedding ring came off of her finger. Now anyone that has hunted the side of the road knows that everything you can imagine is thrown out and gets chopped up from mowing so this was tough conditions to find a gold ring!!
We searched for about an hour, and dug every signal but found no ring ( I did find a new penny LOL )
This area was loaded with all kinds of trash and it was just to overwhelming.
I have been meaning to go back and search some, but each time I have checked the site, the grass is very tall.
It is possible that the ring is still there unless it got thrown by a mower.
Anyhow if anyone has any tips for this recovery process, I am open for suggestions!!
I see from time to time where folks help find lost objects and I think it is good " public relations" for promoting metal detecting so I am trying to do my part.... I just wish they would lose things in places where they can be found easily LOL!!
Good luck to all in your seach and recovery!!
Thanks for looking,
Felix
