Recent T2 finds

New member
Here are my recent finds for 3 local cities in Tulare County, CA.
The first 2 pictures is of a token I found 7" deep in a pounded lot in Visalia. The picture is the actual store in 1903 with Irvin Shiffert on the right. The token says:Shiffert Cigars & Tobacco on first picture and Good For 5cents In Trade on the second photo.
The second photo is finds I found in an 8'x10' area in Delano. 1898V, a medallion with eagle on front and 250 (the 50 underlined)?, a conductors coat button from the railroad on Presidio & Ferries in S.F., and 3 indian heads. The 4th picture is of the railroad car in 1890.
The next picture is a scraped lot in Tulare:1937 and 1939 Merc's, a 1920's ladies compact, a Ansonia pocket watch housing patented April 17th 1888 and 2 seated dimes, 1887 & 1888. Thanks for looking, Batty[attachment 37318 Scan-2.jpg]

Great way to tie in photo's to your finds! I sometimes try to make shadow box displays with stuff like that. I hunted a hotel site a couple years back & then found postcards of the hotel. That made a super display (especially the ones with writing that told of staying there).......
HH,
Bill

Thanks to all for nice response, it is quite exciting for me to find these items in our area. Looking up the history that goes with the tokens, buttons, etc. is almost as fun and finding the treasure's.
I need to try to make a display, just don't know where to start. Paul is real skilled at making very nice displays.
HH, Mark

WTG Mark!!! You've been kicking butt lately with your T2. I'm gonna have to get me one & have you teach me a thing or two. Lets go dig some holes again. I'll call you soon. Jeff R.
