Been pretty busy with a new grandson and another on on the way. I did sneak out for a couple hours to a local park and went to the beach for a night hunt. The first picture is from the park and the second one from the beach. Got to the beach at around midnight and was very disappointed with the condition of the beach. It was all sanded over with trash everywhere. Sea weed all over the shore line and piles all over the beach. With the sun baking all that sea weed, the smell was horrible, especially down wind. When I got to the beach, there was hardly any wind and the mosquito's ate me up, forgot to take repellent and had to find a Walgreens to get some. When digging my finds along the shoreline, about 3 to 4 inches down, the sand was black and oily looking with a fowl odor. I E-MAILED TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE to try and find out if there was any health risks from that dark, fowl odor sand about 4 inches down. With the gas prices hitting the 4 dollar mark, it took me about $40.00 to get there and back.
I did manage to stay for about 8 hours with some modest finds, some junk jewelry and clad to boot. It's been a few weeks since my last excursion, and despite all the short comings, I did make the most of it.
