Hello im new to posting here but have been looking for awhile, just thought I would show off a few finds I made this week. MXT with a mix of 6x10 and 10" d2 coils.

I normally run gain10 disc 2 coin mode with a good hum of thershold, trigger back, this is my 3rd season with the machine and starting to get the hang of it.

Great finds Mike. Glad you decided to start posting your finds. I'm curious to know if you ever hunt in relic mode. I have recently begun using that mode almost exclusively and it has definitely given me better signals at a given depth. I started out using C/J mode for my first few months with the MXT but once you get used to relic mode you see the advantage.Be sure to hunt with the trigger forward when you do hunt in relic mode. Good luck.

Did you hear me say, "WOW"? Very nice amount of old coins. I love the Indians too. Can you tell the year of the Buffalo nickel? So sweet!!!!!!!!!! You have done wonderful with your MXT. We're so glad you posted and welcome to the forum. Thanks so much for the pictures. I LOVE THEM!!!!!

Personally, we take a brass brush to the nickels and to the Indian cents to clean them up. Can't do much damage to them. If it's a "key" date, that's another story. HH, Nancy

Yes i have tried the relic mode, I think it was here last year I read members were haveing great luck with it, so I told my self I was going to give it a try this year but find myself switching back to the coin mode after awhile, why? habit I guess. I can finally tell the differance of a silver coin to a clad coin by the sound in the coin mode. Mike

Nancy can see a faint 24 on it. Mike

I did the same thing Mike. I kept trying to get used to the relic mode ( after reading forum posts ) but since I had become so comfortable with the C & J mode I kept going back to it. I didn't have the patience to start trying to learn the new mode cuz I was new and having such a good time learning in C/J. After I took my QXT out and put in a little time learning it and the different tones I went back to the MXT in relic and it took. Once you learn and become comfortable with the multi-tone signals you'll notice some advantages in depth, etc. with the relic mode. Enjoy your MXT and keep trying relic mode when you get a chance. You'll get comfortable with it and increase your effectiveness. Not that it looks like you need any help but it couldn't hurt. Good luck.

Thanks Mike I just got mine a couple of days ago. I am trying different settings to see what works best in my area. I am glad I picked the mxt I feel it's easier to learn than the dfx.
