Recent finds,

Old California

New member
Recently, A T-2 hunting buddy "Steven" invited me to hunt one of his new hunting grounds. An area not too old but old enough for a handful of silver apiece.

We both experienced interference especially as we approached the nearby power line, Not an alarming amount of interference but enough we had to lower our sensitivity and shift to a different Freq. Further away the T-2 operated smooth and when we did make proper interference adjustments near the power line we still could operate with decent sensitivity. This is my first time experiencing any form of interference with the upgrade, It wasn't an alarming amount and out in the country or any other nearby town/city it operates very smooth. Just this one particular area near the power line it had minor interference.

With our Tekentics, Steven nabbed 6 silver coins and I managed to get 5 silver within a 5 hour period. Like shooting ducks in a barrel.

The pic below are my finds, Roughly about one silver per hour during a 5 hour period.

Merry Christmas everyone,
Paul (Ca)

Paul, great coins. The more I use the T2, the more it feels like it might be one of my all time favorites. I enjoy your posts and advice, so keep them coming! It's a long winter with nothing better to do than reading all the forums. Thanks and Merry Christmas. R.L.

An excellent bag of finds there Paul..Well done.

That interference problem. I think that your power line frequency is 60 cycles (?). Ours in the UK is 50 cycles.

What were your sens. levels before and after the problem?

What was your disc level set at, and did you re-grab GB when near to the power lines?

Just some parameters to understand better the situation in which you encountered your interfrerence....Matt.

Nice finds Paul! You have me thinking about getting a T-2. Give me a call the next time you're down this way. Hope you had a great Christmas.

HH Randy

Thanks Randy,

The T-2 is better geared for relic or demo hunting, And an excellent detector for quick clad from trashy areas. Not really best suited for wet sand such as your area but it does extremely well in the dry sand.

That would be a good to get together again, I sure do miss beach hunting and detecting with you and the local gang in your area. Maybe next month on my vacation and this will allow you to see how the T-2 operates up close.

Thanks again buddy and say hello to the gang on Ca. Forum for me if you get the chance.

Happy New Years,
Paul (Ca)

You too! I hiope 2007 brings you another good year as it did for 2006.

Happy New Years!
HH, Paul (Ca)

Thanks Matt,

Before the interference, My sens was around 65-70 then quickly reduced it to 45-50 underneath the power lines. Even at these low sens settings the T-2 gets great depth.

My disc level is always set at 10 and yes I always re-grab GB as I change locations.

Happy New Years!
HH, Paul (Ca)

Thanks R.L.

I enjoy reading all the post on the T-2 forum too, From beginner to the local seasoned and UK veterans.

The T-2 sure is a wonderful detector, It still amazes me.

Happy New Years,
HH, Paul (Ca)

Thanks Blue,

Yes I did, The interference was not too bad but it was there and I image it would be on other detectors as well.

Still, A little inference once in a while is normal. I can name many detectors I use that have some sort of inference.

Happy New Years!
HH, Paul

My T-2 buddy just pulled out a first from this area the other day, He's suppose too post his finds soon and he better. He's new to the hobby and has pulled out some tremendous finds this year, Come on Steven post your finds!

Thanks again Bill and Eddie, Have a safe and Happy New Years :)
HH, Paul

Well Paul you have me taking vitamins so I can have enough energy to go hunting and pull something out of the ground. Are you coming up this way? Rybo may be here in a few weeks he became a truck driver and is driving from State to State. He tells me how many places he finds to detect but doesn't have the time while he is driving.

Told him to get a GPS and go back. Anyway ChinaTown is a go if you let me know it is filled with iron but the old lock I found was a sweet find. And I found an old coffee pot about ten inches in the ground near where I found the lock so that is a place where things were happening.

Hey LAWRENZO,

I'm ready buddy, Have a vacation in a couple of weeks so I'll be heading in your direction with my packed and eager mule.

China town sounds great, I was doing some research and seen this area to be rich with deposits of relics and maybe some old coins. The old gold miners may have got the gold nuggets but they left behind a trail of relic deposits, One things for sure, we'll be digging allot of Chinese coins too.

See you soon amigo, Leave the lantern on and hot coffee on the fire.
Happy New Years! Paul (Ca)
