Recent finds with the XP Deus, Actually first hunt.

Old California

Having great success with my XP GoldMaxx Power decided to get the Deus, Really like the GoldMaxx Power but hearing so much positive things on the deus picked up a used model with both coils last week.

Aside from air testing and testing a square nail and coins in the back yard took the Deus out the next day for first time this pass Saturday at an old site. A few swings after the coil hit old dirt knew then and there the Deus would be my main relic machine it was like running the XP GoldMaxx Power but now had target ID, Truly an amazing machine wish I had purchased one much earlier.

The Deus handed our soil with ease, Being a first time user to the Deus and not fully reading the manual decided to use Deus fast mode with a few minor changes and stuck to this mode all day. Did well scored several buttons one of them a West Coast Phoenix button along with a few other cool stuff, The machine is so light with the 9" coil.

Allot to learn with the Deus, Hopefully get out again soon in a few weeks.

Thanks for mlooking,
Paul (Ca)

Great hunt! I think you'll be most pleased with using the Deus as a relic machine...my first relic find with Deus was an 11" deep 3 ringer!

Nice finds! Question for you, what is the Phoenix Button?

Also nice pic with captions, I like that touch!

Jim

Thanks CZ,

You bet already taking to the Deus right away she's one mean machine! So glad to have picked one up wish I had done so much earlier.

Thanks again,
Paul (Ca)

Thanks Jim,

Here on the West Coast these were used as trade with the West Coast American Indians, They date back to 1820's maybe earlier always a treat to find one of these knowing they were used as trade as a form of money.

Thanks again Jim!

Nice Button. I found three in Virginia.

Paul ,
What Regiment? George

Thanks jspeedy,

Allot to learn with the deus, One day at a time or should say one hunt at a time :)

Thanks again,
Paul

Hi George,

You certainly earned your name (Button digger) for sure you're the first person I've come across from back east that understand these Phoenix buttons had assigned number to them each a Regiment, The recent Phoenix button find is No.28 which makes it the Regiment (Trou) button.

You've done well finding them in your area, Here on the West Coast they were used as trade to the Indians which is why allot surface on the West Coast. I've found 8 in my career and gave two away and with this recent find now have 6 in my collection, Cool finds for sure hopefully pick up more in the future always a treat to see them surface :)

Take care my friend,
Paul (Ca)

They were used for trade here also. I will post up some pics. One is a cuff button. I also have a very rare spanish military button that says REY. Some research says it being associated with the west coast .

That's Good to hear George you found several Phoenix buttons, And that they were used as trade with the Indians same as it was here on the West Coast. The spanish military (REY) button is a rare find indeed, Think my friend found one before will have to look at it next time I see him.

Going to share here on the West Coast that you had found Phoenix buttons in your area, Was reading that some had been found back east just never knew anyone that had personally found some so now I know you have :)

Appreciate the information, That is great news!
