Here are a few keepers from over the weekend. I was talking to one of the guys in a local park and he told me to try a little traffic island with a large bird house on it because he never saw anyone detecting there before. So I crossed the street over there and the first target I dug was a 1931 mercury dime ! I thanked him for the tip and told him I owed him one ! Out hunting with Park Pirate Sunday I was searching a washed out area around some trees. I looked down and saw a greenish disk laying on the surface. I bent over and picked it up and it turned out to be an 1861 fattie indian head cent. Didn't even need a detector to find that one ! Also scored nickels # 43 & 44 for the year with a 1903 V nickel and a 1929 buffalo. Just to show that all my indian head cents aren't in great condition, also pictured is a green crusty one I dug yesterday. This morning I dug a nasty patriotic civil war Army Navy "the Federal Union must and shall be preserved" token. Getting hot and humid out there. Time to switch machines and get in the water to keep cool !
