Recent Finds - First SIlver Spoon - Colonist's Farthing

All dug in a softball field behind an old local church. Got my first silver spoon...and it has a semi-naked lady! Its states, "Sterling Pat. Dec. 5 1905" along with an engraved "Grace" on the reverse. You can imagine how this thing rang up at only 5" under ground! The dateless farthing or 1/2 penny was about 50 feet away and dates to 1730 - 1750; the SLQ is 1920 and also about 50 feet away. I also got my first Tombac button in Massachusetts (near the large cent I posted earlier). I am speechless.

Really sweet finds - all of them! Any SL quarter with a legible date before 1925 is hard to come by.
How far up into Massachusetts are you?

Orange, that is beautiful country near the Mohawk Trail. Upstate NY is really great as well. Lots of history in those rural areas. You got some great detecting there.

As soon as I saw that spoon I thought, "Edmonton will be all over this one"! That sure is one beautiful find! Nice work!:clapping:

It doesn't get much better than that!! The spoon is sweeeet, and what a thrill to dig a coin from the 18th century!
