Recent Deus finds,

Old California

New member
Here are recent finds from 3-4 different hunts from three different areas, All of the finds are made by the Deus with the exception the 1849 1/2 dime and a few buttons were recovered by the XP GoldMaxx Power. Several buttons from early California Spanish settlements, And a few mid 1850's American buttons one being a rare treat a Dragoons buttons a first for me. Also, Dug two broken pieces from an old Jim Bowie knife, These two pieces are the finger guard. Wasn't sure what these were until CC from California kindly pointed this out that these are from a Jim Bowie knife.

Before California was a state early American Indians then Spaniards were on the West Coast leaving behind extremely old relics and such, So it's a treat to find buttons from this era especially Phoenix buttons these are on every West Coast relic hunters bucket's list. Found two Phoenix buttons the past two weeks that's 3 phoenix for the year making it a total 10 phoenix buttons in my career, Hopefully find a few more always a joy seeing one surface.

Will be hitting some old dirt next week, Hopefully get a few keepers to warrant a post if not be fun just to be outdoors.

Thanks for looking,
Paul (Ca)

Thanks everyone,

Took me a while to try the Deus seen them when they first were available put one reason or another passed on the Deus, Wasn't until 3-4 months ago finally purchased one and boy am I ever glad

The Deus is now my main relic machine, Currently have both the 9" coil and 11" X 13" DD coil, Going to get the 11" round coil next think that will be the in-between coil as compared to my current coils.

Thanks again Deus friends

Paul,

If you are used to the 9" and 11 X 13" coils, you will LOVE the 11" round coil!!!

I started off with the 11 X 13 and a set of WS5 phones and hunted by audio (no control box). Got used to the Deus language, then upgraded to the 11" round coil and was able to pull keepers out of my own yard that I missed (or dismissed the target as"iffy") while hunting with the larger coil. Signals are more crisp and refined with the newer 11" coil, and targets at depth are more easily discernible as well. I also found that the 11" round coil separates better than the larger coil, but can't speak to the 9" vs 11" on that note.

Not sure if this is a problem in your area or not, but EMI seemed to be mitigated a little better with the 11" coil vs the larger one. You won't be disappointed with your purchase!

Thanks CZconnoisseur,

Appreciate the feedback on the 11" round coil, I agree already looking to get the 11" coil and it looks share too!

The 11" X 13" is a good coil get's more depth over the 9" coil, Enhances those deeper signals as well but the 11" round coil looks to be a better balanced coil and if it gets the same depth as the 11" X 13" coil then it's a winner.

Thanks again
