Well, I've decided to stick with my CZ-70 as my main hunting machine after using both the X-Terra 50 and the 70 along with several other machines for reasons I'll post later...purely personal preference as all machines have their individual attributes/strengths. I went back to the 1838 farm site and found this Victorian gilt broach about 4-6 inches down that read relic. I then hunted an early 1900's home site where I dug a nice but slightly bent 1907 IH about 4-6 inches down that read Zinc. I decided to dig other signals and got a strong relic reading about 4-5 inches. Out came a solid gold reeded-edged small coin...unfortunately its an Aluminum-Bronze 1953 Spanish Una Peseta that's no longer usable and only worth 166th - of 1 Euro. I also dug some wheats, the earliest a 1927. The X-Terra 70 found this larger Arabic coin seen at the bottom of the pics. I then went up the street to another similar home site today. I put my sensitivity down to 4 from 6, with a slightly positive ground balance, and just enjoyed the sunshine hunting low and slow with nice overlap listening for the deepies. I got a nice repeatable high coin signal at 8 inches. Using my indispensable FZ-1 Sunray probe, out popped a nice undamaged 1942 Merc. I'm telling you, get one! I see quite a few nice scratched coins posted that could often be avoided; unless the coin is amongst roots which can be real tough. Later a few wheaties and clad. All in all, the machine I started with keeps producing and adding to the collection. It sure is nice to correlate the icon with the tone and pretty much know what you're digging instead of watching numbers jump around...just my preference again after buying and trying a DFX, CoinStrike, CZ-3D, EX II, X-Terra 50 and 70. Each of these machines are super in their own right. I have found alot of coins with each, many that were missed by the CZ-70, but much of that is probably operator dependent since I like to hunt fast enough to cover some ground due to my limited available hunting time...it's amazing what you find when you slow down a bit and do it right. I've also decided that 8-10 inches is about as far down as I ever want to dig for a target...I guess I'm just getting old at 39 since the back is starting to feel it. Well, time to turn it in, for tomorrow is another hunting day during my week of vacation...HH
