I got permission to hunt a small field here in N.H., the property dates back to the 1700's and has been an active farm since then. I have found 2 George Washington buttons there, a Maine Militia button, numerous buckles, flat buttons and an early ( date not clear) large cent. Yet I have found a few items I can't quite identify I would appreciate any help! The first relic is one of 2 that are identical, found in separate parts of the field. the last 3 pictures are the large cent, and the 2 GW buttons, one of which is in rough shape, yet they are the same design.

Thats what I had a hunch it was, After doing some research it appears that the heart shaped relic is a " heart shaped bridal rosette" Civil war era.

The thing at the bottom looks like a GW button. You know a george Washington innogeral button!!! If it is it is worth a bunch of money!!! Does it say Long Live the President anlong the rim?

Yes, I sure know that those are GW buttons, I was just adding the pics of the buttons and coin to show what other finds I had made at this site. I was looking for ID on the first 3 items, 2 have been identified, but I still don't know what the first pic could be.

I think your object in the first pic may be an American version of an "ormolu" which would typically be on a French piece of furniture like what's in the photo. It could have been on a mirror or a hope chest, etc.

Hmm... thats certainly a possibility, never would I have thought of that, thanks for examining it and coming up with a possible identity!
