I've been away from the forums for a bit, but I have managed to slip off to a cellar hole a couple times in the last couple weeks. The finds are nothing to write home about, but it's nice to at least get out this time of the year. This button was a good 8" deep under a 6" tree root.

This buckle came out of the ground black. I started cleaning on it and discovered it was "silvered" at some point.

Next is a couple of flat buttons. I thought the big one was another copper. Not this time.

And finally, a DEEP musket ball, and a burned up copper. I think it's a King George, but it's too far gone:cry:

Thats looks like the typical variety we get at our New England "holes"...
yea that's usually the condition of the coppers too :) unless we get out to that section with the gritty sand soil.
well done,
Bill
