Recent AT Pro & Gold finds

Some of you might have seen these already as I posted them on other forums. I have been a big advocate of these machines since I began using them just 6 months ago. These are my finds from colonial and rev war sites here in SE Virginia from the handful of hunts I have made to them using the Gold & Pro. I have used the Pro more in open areas with the sensitivity and GB maxed out - makes it interesting, but the depth is a welcome result. The Gold was killer at a small house site I worked for a few trips. Included are a couple hundred colonial and early 19th century buttons, handful of coins (1865-1756), a 6lb solid shot from a Rev War camp, a early polled axe/tomahawk from the same encampment, rev war musket balls, rosettes, and other odds and ends.

I have been very happy with the machines and had an amazing summer in the water for civil war relics and likewise this fall for Civil War relics on land. I have hunted hard with folks using the first Texas products and have either outproduced or kept pace with them each time. I have yet to feel like this is an inadequate machine when going head to head with others.

Anyways enjoy - and glad I stumbled on this forum!

Wow!!! More of the old stuff than I ever expect to dig in a lifetime here in Texas!! Congrats and thanx for posting that pic!!

Although I don't like to discuss other makes/models on this forum, that same comparison you made has been posted by others. :)

Great diggn' Dan! I just purchased one myself and look forward to giving it a go at DIV. It's supposed to be my "back-up" to my Infinium, but maybe it gets the nod.

Tom,
I don't know if I would give it the nod over your infinium. I use another PI machine - but tested both the Pro & Gold at the DIV. They did well - just as good as other VLF machines. The Gold actually was real hot in small brass and lead, but to balance it even enough to hunt up there you have to give up a ton of depth. IMHO

TX has some goodies waiting for you!

Best of luck

Be careful...You might have a large influx of hunters moving to your neighborhood with finds like that...Very Nice...Love that Tommy Hawk!!!

HH,

You're no doubt correct on the depth difference/give up. However, I did add a 8.5 X11 coil and thought that it, along with the Ground Balance Window, might provide a decent combination. Living up in PA provides me no opportunity to 'play around' in that red dirt until I get there in the Spring, so any pointers are always welcome.

Tom,
did we run into each other at the last DIV (this past November)? I seem to recall talking to a fella who was using the AT Pro.
