Received the AT Pro

Thanks to all for the welcoming messages. The AT Pros showed up as expected last Friday. I've had mine out in the yard, my son-in-law's yard (he's restoring an old farm house that dates back, in part, before 1900). And yesterday, I went for a drive and got permission from the one land owner I approached about detecting. There is talk of some CW activity in that general area and I have begun virtual research, and this was the first field work. What I can say, unequivocally, is that our home sites are full of undesirable targets; a little less so, now. I am learning the AT Pro and it will take a while, but I am pleased with the machine and pleased with my progress with it. As I said in my introductory post, I detected for CW relics 30 years ago with a Nautilus. Now I remember that it had a continuous threshold tone and I listened for the changes. With the AT Pro, it's silence with target tones. The AT Pro talks to me. A lot! I'm looking forward to learning its language.
Oh, I've found a few memorial Lincolns and a clad dime and quarter. The day I came home with the quarter I told my wife this detector is going to pay for itself even faster than I thought it would. No doubt the AT Pro will do its job. The rest is up to me.

Welcome back to the hobby. As most everything goes in life, it' boils down to 90 % attitude and desire and 10% everything else. You seem to have the 90% part right. Your going to do fine. Remember to enjoy yourself and have a good time because it is a hobby.

Good Luck--------------Happy Hunting

Congratulations on receiving your AT Pro. Much success for you. happy hunting.

Not much in the line of relics where I live, but best of luck to you in your hunts!

Keep that large coil and go low and slow! :detecting:

It sounds like you are in a great area bud. Good luck on the CW finds. My AT is in transit right now and tomorrow is a holiday. Not a biggie as there is a snow storm huffing and puffing outside right now. I remember when I got my ACE 250 which was my first machine. It took me literally from spring to mid summer/early fall to notice that I was getting really tight with it. It is a simple machine but apparently I am more simple, but when all the pegs fit the holes many good things happened. I honestly don't feel that the AT should be a long curve for me because of some basic similarities with the ACE. I am really looking forward to a multi tone machine again. I can day dream with a multi, watch the hawks floating in the air etc. With the ACE it got so that I was only half conscious of the sounds but when a high tone or something unusual rang out it stopped me in my tracks. That happened late last fall when I took the ACE out to fart around before freeze up. I was tired of hard core detecting and just wanted a relaxing swing. I got this weird sounding signal that halted me. I popped the coin out and it was a 1940 Nazi Third Reich 6 Phenig or some such. I posted it up in picture testing. I was told that it was made of zinc, which is why the strange tone I suppose. Anyway................ I am looking forward to a multi tone machine again and it sounds like the AT is packing some muscle to help me out there. I look forward to it. Good luck in the coming season.

 The more you use the AT Pro, the more you will like it. Have fun, and post your finds. I have an extensive :pulltab: collection.
