Received my ATP back yesterday (28TH), they received it on...

the 20TH. I thought that was really good speed. Had the $39.95 regrades done and falsing corrected and it works much better now. They sent me a flat, metal wire clip?? with a hole in one end and it looks like a "J" hook from the side. Anyone know what this is for?

I sent mine same day and got it back yesterday. I used the to hold the headset adapter wire. My ground balance didn't work very good before I sent it off. It appears not to work now. Since I have water standing on the ground I decided not to complain until things dried up. It may work then.

Where did attach the clip John? Maybe under the control box? My ground balance is slow to work in some places but usually it will finally work. If not I just use the manual GB. There is so much junk where I hunt it's hard to find a clear spot to balance the machine.

I attached the clip under a control box screw. As the standing water is drying up the ATP is GBing as it did before. It must be close to right because the depth is great.
I compare Teknetics Omega, White's M6, and a Fisher F70 in a test garden. It seems to me that the ATP and Omega have comparable descrim depth. The F70 has better depth but descrim depth is much less. Just my opinion.

That's probably where the wire clip is meant to attach. I think you are right about the depth comparisons, my Gamma has similar depth to the ATP also.
