This is one hot coil on my Vaquero. Air tested it, picks up a girls thin gold chain bracelet at than 3.5", ladies thin gold band ring at 8", mans gold ring at 9", all in supertune mode. All items were at a max. distance giving a solid signal, a little farther they started breaking up. It's true, the coil is hot the entire 18" length. Bought it for the shore, this baby's gonna cover a lot more beach in the same amount of time than the standard 8" x 9". Hope to get there this weekend.
