Rebooting an Explorer..

Dan-Pa.

New member
We all know the Explorer is a mini computer of sorts..Last night out of the blue my Explorer XS made a funny sound and the screen would show the first part when turned on and then turned off.Luckily I played with it cleaned the batterry connections and as a last resort just held the button in until it went back to quickstart amd lo and behold it was back to normal and easily put my advnced settings in.
Anyone know if there is an official way to reboot the Expl. computer as perhaps I was just lucky..appreciate any input.
I do know the XLT had specific procedures to reboot that unit and therefore does the Explorer have something of the same nature...

Captain perhaps we got off on the wrong foot with our differences but I appreciate a good discussion and a little humor hopes also. Was advised just to hold the power button in and will return to quickstart and at same time reboot computer..Personally wrapping around a tree is more my style which crossed my mind with other units but not an Explorer...

Yes that restores it back to normal what you just said , i think i heard some where that their is another way to reboot an explorer by taking the batteries out while the detector is awitched on then replacing them with power button held in or something i am not sure on this second re boot procedure but am sure there are 2 ways to re boot.

Hi i had this problem too and was advised to remove the battery and re insert it did fix the problem,
