would there be a particular depth or range one who finds wheat penny's with moderate success, may have noticed with any consistency.
I understand what one may dig in one area could have no relation to the same item dug in another area.

I would think typical playground diggers go fairly shallow for there change,

Couple of weekends back I found 2 wheat pennys at the same park, one was 3" deep and the other was laying on TOP of the grass! Not in the roots, just laying there like it fell out of a kids pocket the day before. So yes, you can never really tell, sometimes you can find a modern penny 6" deep and a merc dime a few feet away thats only 4" dirt gets moved around as time goes by...

BOUNTY HUNTER CAN GET A PENNY AT LEAST A FEW INCHES DEEP
BIT ,MORE IN SAND
PULSE DETECTORS GO DEEPER
LARGER COILS SOMETIMES GO 1 INCH MORE THAN SMALLER ONES

I've found wheaties on the surface and also as deep as 6" using the 11"DD coil with my Pioneer 505. So no hard set rules apply.

Man I agree with you , those 11 " DD Coil`s go deep between that and the 10 " coil I got it`s toss a coin time when I go to use one of those ,,,
