Really weird object

Found this yesterday at local lake .My ace250 picked up a signal about 50 yards from the waters edge. When I dug it up had me baffled. The chain links are about 1 inch in oval diameter, what looks like an eye bolt is about 3 inches long, the two round cookie looking discs are 2 1/2 inches in diameter. They are separate from each other and move up and down the length of eyebolt. It weighs no more than a can of soda and a magnet will stick to it.It appears quite eaten away from age so may have been slightly larger. Anybody got a clue.

Yours only has one eyelet and nothing on the other side so this may not be right, but...It could be part of what is called a 'rope pump', though its made of chain. The 2 round pieces sandwiched a gasket which fit closely inside of a pipe. Here is one similar and a link to some others that have been ID'ed.

The only other thing I can think of is if it was an anchor for a chain that bolted onto something such as a barn wall/ceiling/door/ect. The large round things in the center would have been large washers.

Yep Pump rope..The discs had rubber edges at one time...

Ok after thinking about where I was and what was around me . There was a swingset close by. Picture an older swingset with chain hanging down and the two discs sandwiched a flat board for a seat one on each side could support a seat
