Not sure what would of been in something this shape I'm thinking salve or makeup. I realize it's been smoshed a little but I don't think it was more then about 3/8 inches thick. I like the threading on the lid.

I think your right on jar lid but exactly what might be hard to determine. Anything that might still be painted/etched on lid best bet for a clue??
