Really new to the hobby

I bought a used bounty hunter for like a $100. Finally getting warm enough to melt the snow around here so I took it out for a test spin. Found a dime in my driveway! Then I found some scrap tin from when they built my house. Can't wait to really get to some good areas!

You will have a ball. Find old parks, schools etc. in your nearby towns. Make sure digging there is permissible. Researching places to search is part of the fun.

What model did you buy? Perhaps some folks here own what ya have and can give you some tips. Speed up the process of finding goodies.

It is the Bounty Hunter Pioneer 101 model. Really simple design. I did buy some headphones for it and took it for a test spin Friday around the house. My house is new but the farm ground around here isn't. I got some hits and it was all old farm junk, plus a nail where someone always parks so I did them a favor by picking it up. It was fun just uncovering all that. I can't wait to get some good stuff!!

Nothing wrong with the Pioneer 101. It's the same as the Bounty Hunter Tracker IV.
Search on this forum for past messages on the Tracker 4 and you will see tons of info
and besides all that you will be hearing from those that really love this detector.
Yeah, it's simple but it's a good one. I know guys that have one as their main detector
and a whole lot more that have one for a backup. Some of those that use it as a
backup have some big buck machines too so they know what they are doing and
they use what works no matter the price. All you need are some tips which you can
find right here and some good places to hunt. Good hunting to you !! Gene
