Really Digging the AT Pro for digging!

I picked up an AT pro last fall just to see what all the hypes been with this unit
over the years. I've only used it about 15 hours as I have my go to machine. This
machine has yet to let me down.1rst time out it netted me an 1865 and 1866 Indian
head penny along with a pre 1900's gold cuff linkw/stone in it.What a day it was for
me using this machine for the 1rst time.2nd time out I picked up about 15 wheat pennies
from a high trash area along with junk but always knew a coin was there. The other night
I scored a 64' Quarter,4 wheaties, kids toy car,a small medal and some junk but kinda
figured it was junk with the Iron Audio feature. Really works well for me. Well all I can
say is this machine seems to be a vacumm for coins and will find the other goods.
EXCELLENT UNIT! Think I'll be grabbing her a little more these days as it's just a fun
machine to use and very capable of bringing home the BACON!!!

Congrats on some nice finds! I just purchased my at pro at the end of May. Took it out once so far. Liked what I saw. Will be giving it some more time in the field.

I have one the first ones. Blelieve it or not. I thought it was a much hotter device then.I did send it in when they did the updates. But, still kicking and working well. It has found gold , silver and lots of clad.

I bought my AT Pro 2 weeks ago. Studied the forums and figured this was the machine for me. I previously had the Fisher ID Edge and many, many years ago the Fisher Gold Bug.
The AT Pro's panel/buttons are laid out so well in my opinion. Seems like every thing you need exactly where you need it finger or thumb wise. Listening to the many comments, I am learning it in the pro Zero mode.
I am finding things that I never found before. But, I don't think I ever did truly learn to use the ID Edge or any other metal detector I had. I am finding it is more of an art than a science. I had the prior opinion that the metal detector would magically just find the silver coins and gold rings. When that didn't happen I got discouraged.

Now every day is still a learning experience. Found a silver ring (plate I think) 12" down with the 5 x 8" coil near a skate board park. It seems like a modern ring, so I wonder how it got so deep. My guess it was in the fill dirt when the skate park was built since the park is only about 10 years old.

Anyway, am loving my tools: Garrett AT Pro, stock coil, 5 x 8" coil, Lesche 40" digging tool (that guy makes it so easy to dig a plug in almost any type of dirt), Garrett Pro Pointer Orange.
With the pointer and leche digging tool, my digging and finding time has be drastically reduced and I don't give up until I find the target be it good or junk. I am gaining confidence in the AT Pro and my growing detecting abilities.

The 5"x8" is the GO TO coil for this machine . It has DEPTH and is
just a great coil for working most sites. I don't have a lot of hours on
this machine but what I've found has me convinced it's just a DARN GOOD
detector that will compete with others. This machine is very capable of finding
correlated targets in the ground and with Iron Audio, it makes life much easier
when searching and YES, I hunt in Pro Zero as I want to hear it all!!!
