Real world with the 250

Took the new little 250 over to my local park yesterday afternoon. Was going to hunt around a playscape with it so I put the Super Sniper coil from my 1250 (yes, the GTAx connectors are the same). Hunted for about 15 mins. before about 200 kiddos showed up on a field trip.AAARRRGGGHH!!! Had to load up and move so I thought "Where else would be a good spot to check out this little devil" anf I decided to head over by the pool.
I worked along the sidewalks leading up to the pool and the medians in the parking lot. Man do these 250's really like the pennies!! I ended up with 42 of them, 4 nickles, 5 dimes and 4 quarters.
The Super Sniper coil worked great on it! Was able to bump my sens. up to 5 bars and got several pennies over 4" deep. Zinc and copper pennies sound and meter differently. The zincs seem to only single belltone each way and meter exactly on the penny notch and the coppers give off a multi-belltone and meter up on the dime notch. Found that nickles give off a deep, rich tone and set steady on the nickle notch, whereas pulltabs(UUGGHH)and some canslaw will meter like a nickle but have a much lighter tone.
The more I use the 250 the more I like it, but I'm still not selling my other Garretts!!
If the rain holds off today, I might try some bigger coils on it(7 x 10 and 10x14DD) and see how this little puppy responds.
Happy Hunting all!!!

Now there is a term I like! I have never heard it before, but will add it to my vocabulary. Maybe a little dressing on all the "canslaw" I've accumulated will make it easier to accept!

Yeah canslaw is one of the lesser appreciated dishes on the menu. <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
