In my sites I really need a coil that goes deep, the reason is because they ve been hunted lots of times in the past by many detectorists. I need to know if any one has experiences with both to give an advice. Thanks in advance.

It depends what your hunting for the ground conditions and amount of trash

I myself find everything with the 6x10 and the 4x6 coils

The large coils you speak of would be good for the beach maybe..myself I still use those two coils at the beach also.

I have over 6 pounds of silver and 8 pounds of copper lots of rings and many other items

Also this machine will find small gold nuggets with the sniping coil on

Good luck to all of you !:twodetecting:

How much trash? I use and need both.
Hi burlbark, well for trash some they do have and some they are at most high minerilized or salty and others infested with iron but i steel can do work in all with the 10dd, but I really need to go deeper cause i know there are deeper things there to find. I do have sites they are clean and free from anything and I will be happy to have a big loop there.

Get the big loop if you have any fields. Get the 10x12 for house lots. You will need a swing helper harness thingy with the large coil. Unless you only hunt for an hour or so.

Is it because its heavy?

Yes it is fairly heavy when compared to all other available coils for the v3i. I can swing the 10x12 all day, but the 12x15 is to heavy to do so comfortably. I can do it but it becomes a burden to hold up(6 hour hunts), I have used the old black one for day hunts, to heavy for my liking. I am not exactly skinny or weak. I dont lift weights but Im 5'7 and nearly 200 pounds with a 48" chest and a 36" waist, its just to heavy to swing and forget about.

If I didnt want to use the swing thing, I would need to shorten my rod and then it falses off my feet or pockets.

I guess a person could work up to it but the $20 swing thing is so easy to use and makes it effortless.

If they ever make a 15x18 I will be prepared:detecting:

What swing attachment are you talking about? For $25 I would jump on anything half way decent. The White's web page only shows a hipmount which is $60.

When I had a bad shoulder I made my own. Just Google.
