real in ground deus depth compared to your other top detectors, can you share results?

I didn't get a Deus for depth but to experience the ergonomics , quick recovery and innovations incorporated in it's design.
It still remains a back up to the CTX/etrac combo in sites where depth and ID are paramount. I have yet to see the 18 khz hit gold in the ground harder than a FBS when the ground is highly mineralized , which mine is.
A common dime at ten inches will give decent tone and marginal ID on either of the Minelabs and barely a tick and a dot on the horseshoe when using the Deus , regardless of switching frequencies or other settings. If digging is easy I have no problem going on expeditions for questionable signals , but in dry , hard clay , the lightweight Deus can turn into a heavy duty workout with trash as the eventual "reward"

I agree with sprchng. The Dues doesn't do quite as well at ID'ing super deep copper and silver as the E-Trac or CTX, but it is second to none in ergonomics. It is also by far the best gold/tot lot detector I have ever used. I don't have near the time on the Deus I have on the E-Trac so things may change in the future. In my opinion the only top detectors the Deus doesn't match or surpass in performance is the E-Trac/CTX only on the really deep ID'ing. It will go as deep just not ID as accurately on the super deep one.

I went from a WHITES VX3 and the Deus outperforms any machine on the market in my opinion. Deeper than most and faster than 99.9% of the machines out there right now

First off, I haven't owned an etrac or ctx, but have had se pro's and other expl.s. The deus presets are decent, but it really will impress you more when you get to know the settings. A good gb is crucial for depth I believe. The depth is there, and I like that it will hold the high tone at almost the detection depth. On really deep targets, the numbers stop but the tones will keep up. I really like the lightweight ergo of the deus, something I didn't care for on the expl., Man, you can swing all day with no problems. I think each one does certain things better than the other, but I do a lot of plowed field hunting and the deus outshines in that area. Wouldn't kick either out of the car....

I am a fan of the Minelab tones and IDs. I had a 705 and CTX; I felt that the 705 actually IDed coins slightly better than the CTX and the little 6"digger coils hit silver well and got into places many coils didn't.

I had all there coils on the CTX and really liked the information the screen would give you and the depth. I used a full Molle harness and a Swingy thing bungee to help with the weight. Unfortunately for me the weight of the CTX was still too much for my old damaged shoulder to take for more than two hours without me having problems for days.

I bought A Deus while I still had the CTX. It was hard to choose the Deus over the CTX on any given outing, with its little 6" coil separation was pretty good and it would get into places the larger coils couldn't. the larger coils covered the ground and had great depth.

But slowly the Deus proved itself as a capable machine. What it may give up in depth and ID at depth was not enough to convince me to keep hurting myself with the CTX.

If I was younger, with a undamaged shoulder I would have kept the CTX and the Deus. I don't think much will escape that pair with a competent user. I sold the CTX and am sold on the Deus; just hope for a smaller coil to get into and around tight places.

Look I sell Fisher, Deus, Garrett, Tesoro and I have had a lot of At Pro users use the Deus and sell their Garret's. I've had less Fisher people sell their machines but still prefer the Deus over the Fisher. Minelab has only one draw back and that's weight. But the new machines are supposed to be a considerable bit lighter. I have sold more XP DEUS this year than any other machine.

I recently acquired a new F75 se and the Deus is about to take a back seat to it also , not because of ID or depth particularly , but because of the absolutely p--s poor selection of coils and the cost. If the "update" produces a required expenditure of hundreds of dollars to acquire I fear the Deus , now relegated to back up status , will hit the road. The 75 with a 5x10 concentric or the NEL sharpshooter is a match for the Deus in the totlots and the 5" coil for nasty trash is unrivaled.

Go to metal detector reviews.net. You can compare most detectors against each other. They use a quater for depth comparison giving you the max average. I was in your shoes just bought a deus. The guy I bought it from swears he can hit a minnieball at 18" in the ground. I can tell you more in a few days I have a test garden set up and my deus will be here tomorrow. Pm me, I'll hook you up with the guy and he will give you a good deal if you want a Deus . He can tell you al lot about the Deus.

I know it can find a round ball at 15"

F75 is a great machine but in tot lots the Deus is untouchable. Depth wise I'm sure the f75 is deeper but the Deus is designed to handle iron extremely well and it does. I just had a guy buy a Deus from my store and sold his one month old f19, said the Deus ran circles around fisher. That's his words not mine

The trouble with the Deus in totlots (and other obstructed metal areas) is not the performance but the coil size. I have the Deus 11"coil and the F75's 7x11 gets a good 4 to 5" closer to the structures than the Deus and the other coils I mentioned are even better with equal depth and sensitivity. Will I pay $500 for a 5x8 or 10 from XP? not very likely..... but the possibility of a real game changing update keeps me hanging on.

you'd be better off buying a compadre than paying that much for smaller coil to hunt tot lots.

How is the depth on the 11" coil compared to the 9 " coil

I have a full 9'' Deus setup and the main reason it does a very good all round job especially as it has the 4 freqs and also its so flexible with so many variations of control alterations that can be adapted to most ground condition and hunting types, the biggest reason i bought mine is the weight aspect or lack of weight i should say,i can swing a detector all day at last after back problems had reduce my detecting time in the field but the Deus is that light i dont have that problem any more.

Is it my favourite No1n machine i use, well the answer is 'NO' that crown goes to my T2 with the SharpShooter coil, its a slick outfit that suits me down to the ground and is also a total joy to use.

Do i regret buying the Deus not at all, infact its a quality piece of kit,not perfect but no single detector is,but i find that the Deus with the 9'' coil does it all for my needs, the bigger coils may give better performance for other folks but cannot see the need for a bigger coil as they are heavier which is not what i am after.

The best thing would be try one first then make a decision, its alot of money to spend out from other folks reports only to find out you dont like it.

I hunt tot lots 50% of my hunting time and with the 9" there is no comparison to any other detector. I used to use my AT Pro with the 5x8 and the Deus with the 9" makes it look like a toy. The 9" can get as close to any tot lot equipment as needed and does a better job of hitting target next to the toys. I have been looking for the best all-in-one machine and the Deus is as close as you can get in my opinion. It is at home as a deep coin machine, a tot lot/gold machine or a relic machine. Above average in all areas where all the others I have tried may excel in one area but lack in others.
