We hunt in the wood a pheasant, some cartridge-case, a live ammunition (machine-gun), a pocketknife, and a 10 cintisimi italian copper coin (1863) with watch-chain.

10 centisimi

Nice finds, great pics. and ummm that pheasant is going to be tasty!

Nice hunt. That 1863 with watch chain is a find to be proud of. Looks like the children are having fun:twodetecting: I've never ate a pheasant. Does it taste like chicken?:geek:

probably the only thing on earth that doesn't taste like chicken. They have a unique yet mild flaror..Can be just a bit chewier than chicken as they actually use their muscles during there lifetimes.
Never pass up a chance to try a nice pheasant dinner but if it is a hunted bird you are dinning on chew softly....bird shot is really annoying to bite down on.

Looks like a great hunt! I didn't know Garrett offered an over/ under Ace model? So it's a 12 ga shotgun on top and detector on the bottom? This gives a new meaning to "coin shooting"

That is the most diversified finds I have ever seen. When you say you are going hunting, you are really going hunting. Do you have a dog to help you bird hunt? I use to do a lot of pheasant hunting and I had a dog that loved to hunt with me. He was a BIG help. All great finds and it looks like the children are having fun also.

No Garrett doesn't. That is why I carry mine over my shoulder. You have to be prepared for whatever comes along. Garryson is my kind of guy.

I see! Anyone that can hit a Pheasant with a rifle is a great marksman! Also anyone who can shoot a nickel under a rust nail is too!
I thought Charles had really come up with something - the "over and under Ace 250 hunter model" All it would need then is a beer tap! Maybe next year?
Great hunting to you!

Yeah when I lived in Northern Idaho the pheasants and chukar were so thick the highways were littered with their dead bodies, I came around a curve one day and the pavement was covered solid with chukars. Had a helluva time missing all of them as they hauled arse. In this little town I lived in we had deer and elk come into town and walk down the main street. Every time we went fishing deer were all over the place.

One time I was way back in the mountains in Northern Arizona and ran into huge herds of deer. I stopped to watch some of them and three or four doe walked up to the car and stuck their heads through the window to check me out, or either they were begging for goodies. During hunting season the deer and antelope would mingle with the cattle on the ranches. The ranchers used to paint 'COW' in big black letters on the sides of their cattle and they still got shot by idiots overcome with "buck fever." I came near getting shot more than once. One reason I gave up deer and elk hunting.

Looks like you're loaded for bear. You remind me of a guy who used to ride with the Hells Angels in L.A. called "Big Tiny". He was a big feller and wore a skull cap, only his had a skull and crossbones on it, had a beard and mustache :) Was a real nice feller considering the bunch he ran with.

I used to hit rabbits on the run with a 22. When I got my first rifle at age 12 it was a single shot 22. My old man told me, " If you can't hit what yer aiming at with one shot you don't belong out in the woods and you damned sure don't need no gun." :)
