reading rainbow and depot

on reading rainbow they had an episode about finding treasures and the main guy Levar was using a whites metal detector (I am not sure what kind) and watching him all I could think was "he is walking to fast and has the detector too far off the ground" Also I went to Google earth and found the depot I have been detecting at and indicated where I usually look, starting tomorrow I plan on just starting on one end and just searching the whole area, I will post anything I find of interest.

Yep, your idea is good. And sadly, most actors, writers and
directors never research enough to know how to
correctly use a metal detector so it's always the
same in movies and TV productions, giving false
information to viewers who see them.

couldn't do much detecting today, we didn't get up till late and a storm is comming through, if it clears up before it gets to late I might go detect for 20 minutes or so.
