a guy said his advice is to ignore all those louder clad signals and just go for the deeper ones. He says that's where the goods are. If I had done that I would not have dug many expensive items that were loud and shallow - among them an old token I sold for big bux. Dig em all, what's the hurry anyway ? steve in so az
 
Many great items are left for us due to people like that! :)
 
My oldest coin ( 1798 ) was found at a park only about 1 1/2" deep
Kind of smooth and not worth much but I'll remember it forever

...that was just below the surface under some pine needles. I basically just poked my finger in and pulled it out. Where that 40's quarter fell, Lord knows how long ago, is just where I found it. I dig it all.
