This is a huge bullet. Bigger than a 357.And NO is NOT a .22. You can see how much bigger it is than my large grape shot.I would say it is nearly 1 1/4
 
Hard to judge size without something in the pic to compare to. Yes, it is much bigger than a .22.

Still looks like it might have been jammed in a gun action. Then again it could be random damage.

I think you may get a hit from a civil war ammo buff. My only guess then might be a round from a Henry, but that is most likely a poor guess.

but .44 Russian,was developed back in the 1870's
